We are delighted to share some more positive news!
The Court of Session has granted the Trust a Protective Expenses Order in our judicial review challenge. In simple terms, this means that if our challenge is unsuccessful, the amount we could be ordered to pay towards Glasgow City Council’s legal costs is now capped at £5,000, rather than being open-ended.
This is a significant milestone. Without that protection, the financial risk would have been too great for a small community organisation like ours to continue the litigation.
However, the case is far from over. The Court has not yet ruled on the substance of our challenge, and the full hearing (currently scheduled for October) still lies ahead. The hard work of preparing for that hearing is now underway.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, shared our campaign and supported us so far. Your generosity and encouragement have helped us reach this important stage.
Although this is a significant step forward, we still need to raise approximately £3000 to ensure the Trust is fully protected and able to take the case through to its conclusion.
