Trust Planning Application approved!

Very excitingly, on Tuesday 1 September, Glasgow City Council’s Planning Committee APPROVED the Trust’s application on the Bowling Club site.

Equally importantly, the application from Noah to develop flats on the site was continued to a Hearing, when more information will be heard by the Committee. This is important because if GCC had approved the Noah application, it would mean the sale of the site was concluded and development would proceed. The decision to hold a Hearing gives us another chance to save the site for the community and hopefully persuade GCC that the Trust’s vision is better for the community.

It has been agreed that the representatives will be Allan Munro for Mount Florida Community Trust and Chris Carus for Mount Florida Community Council.

The Hearing is set for Tuesday 17th November. We are working closely with the Community Council to present as strong a case as possible for the rejection of Noah’s planning application. Watch the website and our Facebook page for more updates. You can express your opinions by writing to the local Councillors and asking them to clearly represent the community feeling.
