Over 120 local residents turn out to 'Hug the Club'

On Saturday 3 May, with less than 24 hours’ notice, more than 120 residents turned out to demonstrate their support for our aims. Families with toddlers, schoolkids, grandparents and groups of neighbours linked along the perimeter to 'Hug the Club'.  First we hugged Carmunnock Road and Kinmount Avenue, then round to Blairbeth Avenue and Third Avenue. .

The glorious weather smiled on us and all participant were very patient as we figured out ways to communicate actions for the drone camera along a 200m line bending round a corner!

Councillor Stephen Docherty joined us to show his support, and Councillor Holly Bruce sent a message of solidarity as she had a prior appointment. It was a delight to meet familiar faces and make new friends while sharing the current situation and our hopes for Tuesday.’s outcome.

Next time let’s Conga round the Club!
